Separated from his tribe during the invasion, Ash would end up among the populace of Garlemald's conquered territory in Dalmasca and live under its rule. Like many non-citizens, he was conscripted into their ranks when he became of age.As a natural-born hunter, his sharpshooting skills far surpassed his peers and this would earn him a place within the special ops division, working as a covert assassin and sniper under the code name: Snow FoxAs a garlean operative, Ash was primarily stationed in the East - Having assisted in the invasion of Doma's capital and the following years its subjectation. With Higanshi's declaration of neutrality, the port city of Kugane became his go-to destination between missions.His depature from Kugane coincided with the death of his beloved, Chisaki Yumiko. While the details of her death remain unclear, Ash has since sworn to take vengence on the ones he believe to have been responsible for her death. For this reason, he has sworn allegiance to a paramillitary group known as Invictus, working under the covert title: “The Fox”.
These days, Ash can be found frequenting various bars and venues, spending what little money he earns on drinks, prostitutes, or gambling. When asked about his work, Ash would answer that he’s a bartender for Tairiku, a high-end izakaya located in the Goblet.Prying too deeply into the nature of Ash’s work is not the best idea - unless of course, looking for “Trouble” is the intended purpose. For one reason or another, those who ask too many questions or know of too much often disappear for days, weeks, even months. Little is known as to what happened to all his missing “dates”, but the ones who return often do so in a much poorer shape than before.Behind that charming smile and those playful twinkling eyes lies something more sinister, a glimmer of insanity that occationally slips from its cracks. Beyond the charming and flamboyant exterior he presents to the public eye, Ash's criminal roots stretch far down the darkest pits of debauchery. From the smuggling illegal drugs, to contract killing and interrogations, there is little in terms of lines that Ash isn't willing to cross. With how many times he had narrowly avoided death as a result, one would think that the reckless veena would have learned his lesson by now.
